Welcoming | My Peace (As we return to our seats.) | Rev. Christine Dickerson |
We come before you, Lord, with humble hearts. By your generous love we have received so much, and in the bounty of creation we rejoice, and thrive. We are so grateful to be your people, in your image, strengthened by our faith. Yet even as your people, we fall victim to sins of pride and judgment. If we have earthly success, we believe it is because we are better. If someone stumbles or fails, it is seen as weakness, sloth or is simple prejudice. We think we are different and better. But we are made the same! you told us so! Forgive our unkindness and heal hearts that ego has scarred. Build in us the peace and charity of unselfish Grace, and send us as your servants into your world that longs for hope. For in you all things are possible, dear God. We ask in Jesus' name, Amen. |

Life of the Church | Special Music | Elder Dick Schultz |
Hear the Good News! Who is in a position to condemn? Only Christ, and Christ died for us, Christ rose for us, Christ reigns in power for us, Christ prays for us. Anyone who is in Christ is a new creation. The old life has gone; a new life has begun. Know you are forgiven and be at peace. Amen. |
||
Passing of the Peace | O Day of Rest and Gladness | Congregation |
Our Father who art in Heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen. |
||
Prelude | Gloria Patri | Praise Band |
Guide us, O God, by your Word and Spirit, that in your light we may see light, in your truth find freedom, and in your will discover your peace; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen |

* Call to Worship One: We gather with joy and we gather in love; Many: We come to give thanks and sing praises to God. One: We are a family and worship as one; ALL: Sharing the Good News of Jesus, the Son! | O God, You Are My God | Hymn #393 (all) |
We trust in God the Holy Spirit, everywhere the giver and renewer of life. The Spirit justifies us by grace through faith, sets us free to accept ourselves and to love God and neighbor, and binds us together with all believers in the one body of Christ, the Church. In a broken and fearful world the Spirit gives us courage to pray without ceasing, to witness among all peoples to Christ as Lord and Savior, and to work with others for justice, freedom and peace. |
