Welcoming | My Peace (As we return to our seats.) | Rev. Christine Dickerson |
We welcome your new day, O God our Creator. It is always with hope that we begin again, knowing that your Grace renews our lives, sets us free and allows us to let go of a past that may have harmed us. You are our new beginning, and our hearts overflow with gladness. We listen for your voice in our lives, but sometimes when you speak to us we pretend not to hear. Or we hear but don't listen. Sometimes we prefer our own ideas because your truth can be hard for us. Forgive our spiritual deafness, dear Lord! Let the burden of expectation, judgment and fear fall away from us. Give us clean hearts and open minds, so that filled with your Spirit we will stand with you in the light of your victory. Like our ancestors so long ago, help us to feed each other the bread of life, sharing a table of community, of trust and of forgiveness. We ask in Jesus' name, Amen. |

Life of the Church | Special Music | Deacon Kay Chabot |
Hear the Good News! Who is in a position to condemn? Only Christ, and Christ died for us, Christ rose for us, Christ reigns in power for us, Christ prays for us. Anyone who is in Christ is a new creation. The old life has gone; a new life has begun. Know you are forgiven and be at peace. Amen. |

Passing of the Peace | Come, Ye Thankful People, Come | Congregation |
Our Father who art in Heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen. |
