Welcoming My Peace (As we return to our seats.)  Rev. Christine Dickerson
We come with glad hearts, dear God, as we celebrate this day of Independence, a day that reminds us of the many blessings we have because of our faith in you and our right to exercise that faith. We live in a country with bounties of water and food, and are free to live our lives as we wish. Holy One, why then are there those who suffer? Why do any hunger or thirst, or live unsheltered? Even as we sing, there are tears of fear and rage. Help us we pray to stand tall in our freedoms, to honor our neighbor and to help the helpless, for none are less in your eyes. We are all yours, heart and soul. Forgive our sins and let your grace heal and renew. Let us truly be free as we surrender to your desire for peace, for justice, for friendship and a living reality of a nation of love above all, a love founded in our hearts through the sacrifice made for us so long ago. We pray with wonder, thanks, and hope in His name. Amen.

Life of the Church Special Music  Elder Christine Lutke
Hear the Good News! Who is in a position to condemn? Only Christ, and Christ died for us, Christ rose for us, Christ reigns in power for us, Christ prays for us.
Anyone who is in Christ is a new creation. The old life has gone; a new life has begun. Know you are forgiven and be at peace. Amen.

Passing of the Peace O Day of Rest and Gladness  Congregation
Our Father who art in Heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.

Prelude Gloria Patri  Praise Band
Lord, open our hearts and minds by the power of your Holy Spirit, that as the Scriptures are read and your Word is proclaimed, we may hear with joy what you say to us today. Amen
