* Call to Worship Leader: Jesus has promised us: I am with you when you gather in my name. People: We rejoice in the presence of the Lord. Leader: Now is the time to wake from sleep. People: Now our salvation is near!

* Opening Hymn Gather Us In  Hymn #401 (all)

Prayer of Adoration & Confession (unison)
Lord God, while we were still slaves to sin, you died for our salvation. Yet we still worship the false gods of the world, forgetting that you are Lord. Loving worldly wealth, we have not loved you with our whole heart nor loved our neighbors as ourselves.
Trusting worldly strength, we have not trusted your word nor followed the Word-made-flesh. Living by worldly norms, we have not shown mercy to others as you have shown mercy to us. Forgive us yet again, we pray in Christ’s name. Amen.

(A moment for silent reflection)

Assurance of Pardon
Who is in a position to condemn? Only Christ, and Christ died for us, was risen for us, and reigns in power over us. Sisters and brothers hear this good news. Through Christ we are forgiven and reconciled with the Creator of all.

* Singing Gloria Patri  Hymn #623

Help Us Accept Each Other  Hymn #754 (1 & 4)

Choral Preparation Hear Us, O Lord  On Screen

Prayers of the People & Lord's Prayer
Our Father who art in Heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.

Anthem I Believe  solo by Rick Anderson

Prayer for Illumination .
Lord, open our hearts and minds by the power of your Holy Spirit, that as the Scriptures are read and your Word is proclaimed, we may hear with joy what you say to us today. Amen
