Welcoming | My Peace (As we return to our seats.) | Rev. Christine Dickerson |
God of power and might, of love, and of hope. We raise our voices to you in song and praise. How beautiful is your world and everything in it, how amazing even the smallest grain of sand. You place before us new blessings every day, and we see them reflected in the mountains that are ages old, and in the voices of young children that remind us that your plan is eternal. Thank you, we shout, thank you! We also cry out to you in our sin, our state of human-ness that lets our hearts and minds stray. Forgive us, Lord, that any of your beloved should not be fed, or might be forgotten. Forgive that we sometimes hurt others, and rationalize the pain we have caused. Teach us to lean on your word, and guide our lives by the goodness we learn from the life of Christ. In your grace, mold us into disciples humbled by your presence in our lives. We ask in Jesus’ name. Amen. |

Life of the Church | Special Music | Elder John Evans |
Who is in a position to condemn? Only Christ, and Christ died for us, was risen for us, and reigns in power over us. Sisters and brothers hear this good news. Through Christ we are forgiven and reconciled with the Creator of all. |

Passing of the Peace | O For A Thousand Tongues | Congregation |
Our Father who art in Heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen. |
||
Prelude | Gloria Patri | Praise Band |
Lord, open our hearts and minds by the power of your Holy Spirit, that as the Scriptures are read and your Word is proclaimed, we may hear with joy what you say to us today. Amen |
