God of kindness, inspire us to reach out to our brothers and sisters. Inspire us to remake the systems that wound your children. In doing justice and loving kindness, may we walk humbly with you in the way of peace. Forgive us when we ignore and do mean things to our neighbors near and far. Forgive us when we turn our backs on the Prince of Peace. Renew a right spirit in us through your grace and mercy. This we pray in Jesus’ name and for the sake of this world. Amen. |

We trust in God the Holy Spirit, everywhere the giver and renewer of life. The Spirit justifies us by grace through faith, sets us free to accept ourselves and to love God and neighbor, and binds us together with all believers in the one body of Christ, the Church. In a broken and fearful world the Spirit gives us courage to pray without ceasing, to witness among all peoples to Christ as Lord and Savior, and to work with others for justice, freedom and peace. |
