Welcoming | My Peace (As we return to our seats.) | Rev. Christine Dickerson |
R Spirit, spirit of gentleness, Blow through the wilderness, calling and free, Spirit, spirit of restlessness, Stir me from placidness, Wind, wind on the sea. 1 You moved on the waters, You called to the deep, Then You coaxed up the mountains From the valleys of sleep, And over the eons You called to each thing, "Awake from your slumbers And rise on your wings." R... 2 You swept through the desert, You stung with the sand, And You goaded your people With a law and a land, And when they were confounded With idols and lies, Then You spoke through Your prophets To open their eyes. R... 3 You sang in a stable, You cried from a hill, Then You whispered in silence When the whole world was still, And down in the city You called once again When You blew through Your people On the rush of the wind. R... 4 You call from tomorrow, You break ancient schemes, From the bondage of sorrow The captives dream dreams; Our women see visions, Our men clear their eyes. With bold new decisions Your people arise. R... R... |

Life of the Church | Special Music | Elder Kay Chabot |
Loving God, we know there are times we feel surrounded by hopelessness. We do not know where to turn. We feel life has left us and those we love, and find ourselves longing for endings. Yet you, God, come to us even in those times. You challenge us. You remind us that you are a God of forgiveness, hope and life. You invite us to proclaim a message of life in the midst of despair. Receive, then, our confession, and fill us with the breath of new life and forgiveness. Amen, |

Passing of the Peace | Spirit, Spirit of Gentleness | Congregation |
Who is in a position to condemn? Only Christ, and Christ died for us, was risen for us, and reigns in power over us, Sisters and brothers hear this good news. Through Christ we are forgiven and reconciled with the Creator of all. |

Prelude | Gloria Patri | Praise Band |
1 O for a thousand tongues to sing my dear Redeemer's praise, the glories of my God and King, the triumphs of God’s grace! 2 The name of Jesus charms our fears, and bids our sorrows cease, sings music in the sinner’s ear, brings life, and health, and peace. 3 4 5 To God all glory, praise, and love Be now and ever given By saints below and saints above, The church in earth and heaven. |

Our Father who art in Heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. For thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen. |
