Good Morning Palm Springs Presbyterian Church.

We would like to express a very warm welcome to Pastor Christine and a special thank you for guiding our worship today. Pastor Christine is well known to many of us, as she was our pastor for the past nine years until she decided retirement was her ew calling. She has truly been missed and we are so joyful she will be with us through the holidays.

Today we celebrate the 4th Sunday of Advent. And, as is our tradition we have beautiful Christmas poinsettias here on our altar. Several of them have been donated in memory of loved ones we announced last Sunday, and we have additional ones that have been donated this week. They are:

We would like to invite everyone to join Pastor Christine for our Christmas Eve candlelight service, which will be available online at 7:00 PM on Christmas Eve.

There are a number of very special folks that have birthdays this week. Happy Birthday to Fred Lynn, Melvena Schaefer, Holly Heinz and Bill Miller. May God bless each one of you throughout the year with good health and happiness.

ONE: Last Sunday the candle of Love was lit. We light it and the candles of hope, and peace again as we remember that Christ will come again and bring to the world everlasting peace. The 4th Candle of Advent is the Candle of Joy. It reminds us of the joy that Mary felt when the angel Gabriel told her that a special child would be born to her

ALL: Creator of all, we receive your blessing and the promise of rebirth with joy and gladness! We sing to you for the mystery of life and victory over death. We surrender to your light in Jesusp$z¡ÛrT

ALL: Who is in a position to condemn? Only Christ, and Christ died for us, was risen for us, and reigns in power over us. Sisters and brothers hear this good news. Through Christ we are forgiven and reconciled with the Creator of all.

Our Father who art in Heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.

ALL: Lord, open our hearts and minds by the power of your Holy Spirit, that as the Scriptures are read and your Word is proclaimed, we may hear with joy what you say to us today. Amen

I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, to present yourselves as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God.
Let us offer our lives to the Lord.
