|Pastor: "The Word of the Lord." People: "Thanks be to God."||I John 3:16-24||Hymn #372|
Our Father who art in Heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.
|Sermon||Psalm 23||Rev. Sally Willis-Watkins|
We seek God±ù
|In Response||Within Your Shelter, Loving God||Elder Pauline Gregg|
Living, forgiving God, have mercy on us. We talk about love, but our actions betray us. We talk about love, but we neglect the poor. We talk about love, but we malign those with whom we disagree. We talk about love, but we mistreat those not like us. Have mercy on us, our lord. Forgive us and abide in us by the power of the Spirit, so that our lives may show our love for Jesus Christ, in whose body we live and in whose name we pray. Amen.
|Morning Tithes and Offerings||Acts 4:5-12||Hymn #168|
Lord of Life, by submitting to death you conquered the grave.
By being lifted on a cross you draw all peoples to you.
By being raised from the dead
you restored to humanity all that we had lost through sin.
Throughout these fifty days of Easter
we proclaim the marvelous mystery of your death and resurrection.
For all praise, honor and glory are yours, now and throughout eternity. Amen.
|Offertory||O for a World||Rev. Sally Willis-Watkins|
Lord, open our hearts and minds by the power of your Holy Spirit, that as the Scriptures are read and your Word is proclaimed, we may hear with joy what you say to us today. Amen
|Doxology||"Living Biblically"||Alex Danson|
I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, to present yourselves as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God.
Let us offer our lives to the Lord.
|Prayer of Dedication||Love Lifted Me||Hymn #606|
God of unending gifts, we praise you for your abundant goodness.
As you are generous, we want to be generous too.
May the gifts we bring extend your generosity into the world,
so that all people may be made whole by your goodness and grace. Amen.
