Gracious Creator, thank you for the gift of shelter. Help us to do as Jesus taught us and acknowledge those in or midst who are without a safe home of their own in which to rest their heads. Challenge us to find new ways that we might live out Christ’s call to “go and do likewise”. Forgive us when we turn our heads and hearts the other way. Thank you for the privilege and blessing of gathering at your Table this morning; thank you for your mercy, grace, and forgiveness as you hear and answer our prayers by the power of your Holy Spirit through Jesus Christ, our risen and living Lord and Savior. Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.

We trust in God the Holy Spirit, everywhere the giver and renewer of life. The Spirit justifies us by grace through faith, sets us free to accept ourselves and to love God and neighbor, and binds us together with all believers in the one body of Christ, the Church. In a broken and fearful world the Spirit gives us courage to pray without ceasing, to witness among all peoples to Christ as Lord and Savior, and to work with others for justice, freedom and peace.
