Welcoming/Preparing to Meet with God | “My Peace” (As we return to our seats.) | Rev. Christine Dickerson |
We walk in the light of your grace and beauty; we admire the detail of your creation; we are humbled by your love given in the life of Christ, given so that we might live. How great are your works, O God, and how great is our joy that we belong to you, for you dry our tears and give us hope, always. We sing to you in thankfulness. We ask, too, for your forgiveness. Too often we fail to remember you, and fall to sin. We are blind to the needs of others, and walk past the lost. We do not share, in word or deed. Heal us, we pray. Teach us right ways, lead us to lives of service, and help us to lift our voices so all might hear your Good News. We ask in Jesus’ name, Amen. |
||
Life of the Church/Announcements | Special Music | Elder Suzanne Swartz |
Hear the good news! Who is in a position to condemn? Only Christ, and Christ died for us, Christ rose for us, Christ reigns in power for us, Christ prays for us. Anyone who is in Christ is a new creation. The old life has gone; a new life has begun. Know that you are forgiven, and be at peace. Amen. |
||
Passing of the Peace | “O For A Thousand Tongues” | Congregation |
Our Father who art in Heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen. |
||
Prelude | “Gloria Patri” | Praise Band |
God, source of all light, by your Word you give light to the soul. Pour out upon us the spirit of wisdom and understanding, that, through the Scriptures, our hearts and minds may be opened to know your will in our lives. Amen. |
