Welcoming/Preparing to Meet with God | “My Peace” (As we return to our seats.) | Rev. Christine Dickerson |
Immortal God, in your eternal love for your creation, we have been given the gift of life. You sent your son to defeat the darkness, and gift us with the light of grace. The sky sings of Truth, the earth answers with joy, and your people are blessed with the heavenly kiss. Yet even in the face of your truth and gift, we stray. Evil claims us and we wander from your light. Wake us, O Lord, and turn us in right ways. Forgive our blindness and failure to proclaim your light and help us to give voice to your peace and love. We ask in Jesus’ name. Amen. |

Life of the Church/Announcements | Special Music | Elder Jim DeHart |
Hear the good news! Who is in a position to condemn? Only Christ, and Christ died for us, Christ rose for us, Christ reigns in power for us, Christ prays for us. Anyone who is in Christ is a new creation. The old life has gone; a new life has begun. Know that you are forgiven, and be at peace. Amen. |
||
Passing of the Peace | “Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee” | Congregation |
Our Father who art in Heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen. |
||
Prelude | “Gloria Patri” | Praise Band |
God, source of all light, by your Word you give light to the soul. Pour out upon us the spirit of wisdom and understanding, that, through the Scriptures, our hearts and minds may be opened to know your will in our lives. Amen. |
