Welcoming | My Peace (As we return to our seats.) | Rev. Narcissis Tucker |
God, who has loved us; God, who has saved us. There is nothing that divides us from you. Your love is in the light of the sun and the cool of the water; your love sweeps over all of creation, and we sing your praise. Why then, do we forget? How do we miss the hunger in the eyes of the poor and lost? Why do we turn our backs on those who do not fit in, and cry out in their loneliness? Forgive us, dear Lord. Help us to overcome our fear of that which is different from us. Give us loving hearts, we pray, and the arms of Christ that reach out, unafraid, to all people. In Jesus’ name, Amen. |
||
Life of the Church | Special Music | Elder Fran Gotenstein |
Our Father who art in Heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen. |
||
Passing of the Peace | All Hail the Power of Jesus' Name | Congregation |
God, source of all light, by your Word you give light to the soul. Pour out upon us the spirit of wisdom and understanding, that, through the Scriptures, our hearts and minds may be opened to know your will in our lives. Amen. |
