God, you have made us strong and fine. We are given the power of thought, and the action of our will. What blessings we receive in the freedom and trust of your love! As we make our way in life, we celebrate successes, families and friendships, and build great cities of light. With so much, why then, Lord, do we doubt or challenge you when things don't go our way? Why do we forget that others can help us and we can help others? Forgive us! Help us to focus on your true Word, and not be distracted by the pretty and powerful, or be blinded by our own egos. Lead us, we pray, into a fullness of love and understanding, reflections of your eternal Grace. We ask in Jesus' name, Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.

God, source of all light, by your Word you give light to the soul. Pour out upon us the spirit of wisdom and understanding, that, through the Scriptures, our hearts and minds may be opened to know your will in our lives. Amen.
