God of heaven and earth, we are always aware of your hand in our lives. You give us free will, we experience love, we encounter joy, yet over all we know of your grace and hope for us. That we exist in your image fills us with awe, and we give thanks with all our hearts. O Lord, if this joy and if this love is meant for all your people, why is it so hard for us to cross the road to help another? Why do we let old grudges or peer pressure hold us back? Forgive us our sins of judgment and omission. Heal our brokenness and take our hand, leading us into new ways of being that reflect the footsteps of Jesus. Let our love for you shine into the lives of others, dear Lord, as your people in a broken world. we pray on Jesus name, Amen. |
