Pre-worship Music | I Have Decided To Follow Jesus | Praise Band |
ONE: May the peace of Christ be with you. ALL: And also with you. |
||
Gathering Song | God Welcomes All | Hymn #399 |
Leader: O God, we gather before you make our praises and our thanksgiving known. People: We give thanks to your name for your steadfast love. Leader: You have freed us, and we tell the story of your deliverance even to the assembled hosts of heaven. People: All angels above and every power in this world shall praise you. Leader: As we find our voices, we join the throngs throughout the universe who exalt you. People: Why should the world believe your greatness when they see that we are so small? Leader: God, let us shout your praise loudly and let us show the world what you have done for us, how you have changed us from children in faith to mature partners who work with you in the care of creation. People: God, make our lives into a witness, an example for everyone to see. Leader: So that all the world may experience your glory, and join your cause. ALL: O Lord, fulfill your purpose in us. |
||
Welcoming | My Peace | Rev. Jon Berquist |
ONE: All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God; yet God is merciful as well as just, quick to hear and to forgive. Let us then boldly confess our sins before God: ALL: O God, you have called us to join your work in this world, but we have been quiet and shy. We strive to help you in ways that we can be unseen and unrecognized. We hope that the world will not notice, and that we will receive neither credit or blame for the work you do in our lives. For these and every way we sin against you, we ask your forgiveness. |
||
Life of the Church | Oh For a Thousand Tongues | Elder Peggy Kueffer |
ONE: Christ lived for us. Christ died for us. Christ rose for us. Friends, hear and believe the good news of the gospel: in Jesus Christ we are forgiven. ALL: Hallelujah! Amen! |
||
Passing of the Peace | To God Be the Glory | Congregation |
Our Father who art in Heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen. |
||
Prelude | Be thou My Vision | Praise Band |
O God, open our ears to your teaching, so that our mouths can learn to sing your praise, our feet can learn to follow your steps, and our hands can do your work in this world. |
