ONE: May the peace of Christ be with you.
ALL: And also with you.

Leader: O God, we gather together to seek you.
People: Do not be far from us; make yourself known to us.
Leader: May we see your face clearly, and hear your voice close to our ears.
People: Let us serve together your people, especially those in need.
Leader: Whether that need is hunger, thirst, acceptance and welcome,
People: Nakedness, illness, or incarceration.
Leader: Our God, we know that you care for all your people.
People: Grant us courage and strength to care for all of your world.
ALL: As we all bow down to serve those with need, we will find ourselves one with Christ.

ONE: All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God; yet God is merciful as well as just, quick to hear and to forgive. Let us then boldly confess our sins before God:
ALL: O God, you have called us to feed the hungry, give drink to the thirsty, and to care for all those oppressed or marginalized. But we have hid behind our own cleanliness and holiness, keeping our distance from your children in need For these and every way we sin against you, we ask your forgiveness.

ONE: Christ lived for us. Christ died for us. Christ rose for us. Friends, hear and believe the good news of the gospel: in Jesus Christ we are forgiven.
ALL: Hallellujah! Amen!

Our Father who art in Heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.

O God, open our ears to your teaching, so that our mouths can learn to sing your praise, our feet can learn to follow your steps, and our hands can do your work in this world.
