ONE: May the peace of Christ be with you. ALL: And also with you. |
Welcoming | My Peace | Rev. Barbara Thursby |
Leader: I will sing to the Lord as long as I live, all my life I will sing psalms to my God. Congregation: May my meditation please the Lord, as I show my joy in him! Leader: Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise. Give thanks to him, bless his name. Congregation: For the Lord is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations. Leader: Bless the Lord, my soul. O praise the Lord. Let us worship God. |
Life of the Church | Holy Spirit, Thou Art Welcome | Steve Chown |
ALL: With new life all about us, O God, we still cling to old ways. In spite of your promises, we seek self-assurance. You send the Holy Spirit to enliven our existence. The darkness of doubt dispels the new light the Spirit brings. We are afraid to admit what it might mean if we surrendered our selves. So we continue to pursue our flights of fancy, and pretend that we can go it alone. AMEN |
Passing of the Peace | On Pentecost They Gathered | Congregation |
ONE: God has mercy upon us and hears our confession. In Christ we have the assurance that we dwell not alone. All who approach God with a desire for wholeness, will be filled with living waters, which the Spirit gives. Be refreshed in your quest to do what is faithful and be alive with the promise of God |
Prelude | Bless the Lord my Soul and Being | Praise Band |
Our Father who art in Heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen. |
