Leader: The law of the Lord is perfect, reviving the soul. People: The decrees of the Lord are sure, making wise the simple. Leader: The precepts of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart. People: The commandment of the Lord is clear, enlightening the eyes. Leader: the fear of the Lord is pure, enduring forever. People: The ordinances of the Lord are true and righteous altogether. Unison: Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable to you, O Lord, our rock and our redeemer. |

Prayer of Confession (Unison) | ||
Unison: God of justice and righteousness, have mercy upon us as we confess our sin. We say we love our neighbors, but we still make distinctions. We favor the rich and discount the poor. We say we have faith, but our works do not show it; we preach Jesus Christ while we send the hungry away. While our lips praise you, our hands cast off strangers. We are not worthy to ask your forgiveness except for the name of Christ, who pardoned the thief on the cross and forgave those who put him to death. |
