Welcoming/Preparing to Meet with God | “My Peace” (As we return to our seats.) | Rev. Christine Dickerson |
God, our source of all hope, we are as small children when we remember your son coming through the gates of Jerusalem. We wave our palms and sing for joy, and we reach out to touch the hem of his robe: Your son, your gift, your great love. We give thanks for his light and willingness to surrender himself for us. We want to follow him, but it is hard. We wait by the gate, afraid to enter, afraid to lose ourselves, afraid to be vulnerable, afraid to die. Help us, O Lord, to understand the freedom and life of the Cross, and be willing to surrender ourselves to a life in Christ. We ask in his name, Amen. (a moment for silent reflection) |

Life of the Church/Announcements | Special Music | Elder Jim DeHart |
Hear the good news! Who is in a position to condemn? Only Christ, and Christ died for us, Christ rose for us, Christ reigns in power for us, Christ prays for us. Anyone who is in Christ is a new creation. The old life has gone; a new life has begun. Know that you are forgiven, and be at peace. Amen. |

One Great Hour of Sharing | ||
Passing of the Peace | “Hosanna, Loud Hosanna” | Congregation |
Our Father who art in Heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen. |
||
Prelude | “Gloria Patri” | Praise Band |
God, source of all light, by your Word you give light to the soul. Pour out upon us the spirit of wisdom and understanding, that, through the Scriptures, our hearts and minds may be opened to know your will in our lives. Amen. |
