PSPC Worship Service

Lord, we give thanks for your beautiful creation, for the sun that rises each day, for the very breath we breathe. We give praise for the gifts of bright flowers and life-giving waters, for the very earth that sustains us. We shout for joy at the majesty of mountains, and the holiness of a forest; you have given us so much. Why then, do we waste our gift? Why do we neglect caring for the work of your hands? We take more than we can use, and cast aside the rest; forgive us, we pray. Help us to understand how to sustain your creation, to be tender with your works. Teach us to honor what we humbly use for our sustenance. We are your gardeners, O God; let us care for your earth with love. We ask in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Hear the good news! Who is in a position to condemn? Only Christ, and Christ died for us, Christ rose for us, Christ reigns in power for us, Christ prays for us. Anyone who is in Christ is a new creation. The old life has gone; a new life has begun. Know that you are forgiven, and be at peace. Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.

God, source of all light, by your Word you give light to the soul. Pour out upon us the spirit of wisdom and understanding, that, through the Scriptures, our hearts and minds may be opened to know your will in our lives. Amen.
