Welcoming/Preparing to Meet with God | “My Peace” (As we return to our seats.) | Rev. Christine Dickerson |
God, our Creator, God, our protector, how sweet is the sound of your name! From the time you formed us, we have experienced your love and grace. Even when we are grown, you do not leave us, but call to us, and ask us to come near. Forgive us, Lord, when we stray. Reach out to us always, when we stumble. Set right our minds, and direct us into your service of love and hope, of healing and caring. Build in us generous hearts, alive with forgiveness, humility and generosity. We pray in Jesus’ name, Amen. |
||
Life of the Church/Announcements | Special Music | Elder Harvey Stephens |
Hear the good news! Who is in a position to condemn? Only Christ, and Christ died for us, Christ rose for us, Christ reigns in power for us, Christ prays for us. Anyone who is in Christ is a new creation. The old life has gone; a new life has begun. Know that you are forgiven, and be at peace. Amen. |
||
Passing of the Peace | Psalm 71 | Congregation |
Our Father who art in Heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen. |
||
Prelude | All Hail the Power of Jesus' Name | Praise Band |
God, source of all light, by your Word you give light to the soul. Pour out upon us the spirit of wisdom and understanding, that, through the Scriptures, our hearts and minds may be opened to know your will in our lives. Amen. |
