Welcoming/Preparing to Meet with God | “My Peace” (As we return to our seats.) | Rev. Christine Dickerson |
God, our Creator and sustainer of all things, we look to you with joy and wonder. You make us whole when we are broken, you protect us as we walk through life, you provide for times of deep joy and comfort. Without you we are sand, and with you we are light. When we trust in you, we are whole. Help us, we pray, when we anger because your will is not our will. Lead us to recognize your eternal and hopeful presence. Guide us as your disciples in this world, to be a confident and meaningful presence for all who seek your peace and love. We ask in Jesus’ name, Amen. |
||
Life of the Church/Announcements | Special Music | Elder Harvey Stephens |
Hear the good news! Who is in a position to condemn? Only Christ, and Christ died for us, Christ rose for us, Christ reigns in power for us, Christ prays for us. Anyone who is in Christ is a new creation. The old life has gone; a new life has begun. Know that you are forgiven, and be at peace. Amen. |
||
Passing of the Peace | Psalm 138 | Congregation |
Our Father who art in Heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen. |
||
Prelude | “May Jesus Christ Be Praised” | Praise Band |
God, source of all light, by your Word you give light to the soul. Pour out upon us the spirit of wisdom and understanding, that, through the Scriptures, our hearts and minds may be opened to know your will in our lives. Amen. |
