Welcoming/Preparing to Meet with God | “My Peace” (As we return to our seats.) | Rev. Christine Dickerson |
True God, maker of heaven and earth; our Lord, who knows us more than we know ourselves; we give thanks and praise for this gift of life, for the beauty of creation, for the song of family and friendship. You have given us the world, and we are humbled by your Grace. Why then, don’t we see? Why do we destroy what your hand has made, or hurt those we love? How does our greed let others starve, and our anger overwhelm our desire for peace? Forgive us, we pray. Give us the sight to see, and the hearts to work your ways, with all people. We ask in Jesus’ name, Amen. |

Life of the Church/Announcements | “Battle Hymn of the Republic” | Deacon Jeff Morgan |
Our Father who art in Heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen. |
||
Passing of the Peace | “God of Our Fathers” | Congregation |
God, source of all light, by your Word you give light to the soul. Pour out upon us the spirit of wisdom and understanding, that, through the Scriptures, our hearts and minds may be opened to know your will in our lives. Amen. |
