Welcoming | My Peace (As we return to our seats.) | Rev. Christine Dickerson |
O, what a morning! O, what a day when we understand all we have been given! The ancient shrub that graces the sand, the red of a hummingbird’s wing. Mountains that cast shadows, hill upon hill. In winter, a warming sun that heals the weary heart. We are deeply blessed, and in our blessing we miss the suffering of others. We find ways to do what might help, but avoid looking the hungry in the eye, shaking the hand of the homeless, hearing the cry of the lonely. Forgive us our fear, heal our ways of avoidance, open our ears and hearts to the words and ways of Jesus, so that the beauty of your earth will also be the beauty of our souls. We ask in His name, Amen. |

Life of the Church | Special Music | Elder Joyce Johnson |
There is no sin so terrible that God cannot forgive There is no hurt so terrible that God cannot heal In Jesus Christ, God has forgiven us and set us free! |

Passing of the Peace | Immortal Invisible | Congregation |
Our Father who art in Heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen. |

Prelude | Gloria Patri | Praise Band |
O God, light of the minds that know you, life of the souls that love you, strength of the thoughts that seek you, help us to know you so that we may truly love you and truly serve you, through Jesus Christ, our Lord. |

* Call to Worship One: Our souls find rest in God alone; Many: Our salvation comes from the Lord; One: God alone is our rock and our salvation; ALL: We sing praises to the mercy and grace of our Creator! | Simple Gifts | Hymn #25 (1, 2 ,3) |
We trust in God the Holy Spirit, everywhere the giver and renewer of life. The Spirit justifies us by grace through faith, sets us free to accept ourselves and to love God and neighbor, and binds us together with all believers in the one body of Christ, the Church. In a broken and fearful world the Spirit gives us courage to pray without ceasing, to witness among all peoples to Christ as Lord and Savior, and to work with others for justice, freedom and peace. |
